I have been doing some research on an application and web service (Web 2.0) and find it interesting and possibly very beneficial. The application is called Gist. Gist is all about knowing more about who you know in your business relationships.
Relevant news, blogs and twitters are related to your email contacts. If something happens to, for or by one of the clients on your list, you will have the information handy and readily available. You can connect accounts like Outlook, Gmail, LinkedIn, Twitter and others.
The thing to keep in mind: Know more about who you know. This application will provide information about the company you want to keep in mind for your next sales call. Know when the company and or person receive a contract with the government or other services.
Sales professionals will find this kind of information extremely useful, small business owners will be able to look to expand current contacts or grow the business by being in the know about the industry. Just a couple of contacts in any industry is going to give you an edge.
